Today is a good day to feel grateful. This is the anniversary of 911. This event changed our world forever. The entire world watched in horror as the events unfolded. Shock waves vibrated throughout the globe. This was a great wakeup call for all of us in the west. The realization that nothing should be taken for granted. That every day we are alive is a blessing.
We have so much affluence in the western world. Some of us live our daily lives completely oblivious to what goes on elsewhere. Life is tough in many other parts of the world. Many of us have never experienced famine, disease or war. Most of us here have yet to experience such horror. That's exactly why 9/11 happened. So we, too, would experience what they do. It was a very stern lesson for all of us. And it could very likely happen again.
That's why every day of your life should be treasured. Live every day feeling joy. Be happy and thankful. Enjoy each and every moment. Feel awestruck being alive and doing well.
Feeling grateful changes your attitude. It raises your energy level and lifts your spirits. You appreciate the little things. Your children's laughter. Your tucking them in bed. Your partner's snoring. The things that he says. Make a list of what makes life worth living. Read them, then read them again.
Everything about life is significant. It has meaning. It's fulfilling. It has worth. Be grateful for everything. The small stuff. The petty things. Never take anything for granted.
Be grateful because you exist.
