BB, CC or DD. Which is Which?

It's not enough to just buy foundation now. Oh no. There's much more to add to your makeup arsenal. There's tinted moisturizer and primer. Concealer and highlighter. And please don't forget to get an illuminator! If that's not enough, let me be the first one to tell you. There's BB and CC and DD. Are you still with me?

Life was so simple 20 years ago. The biggest decision we made was whether to wear eye shadow. Well those days are gone, girls. You'd better read on or you'll get left behind in the land of the makeup dead and dying!

BB CREAM

The initials "BB" stand for Beauty Balm. Beauty balm gives you a lighter coverage than foundation. What makes BB creams so different is they are not thick and cakey and have the added benefit of SPF protection. BB Creams also contain moisturizers so they go on a little smoother. They even out your skintone and give you more of a dewy look. Think of them as your all-in-one primer, moisturizer, and foundation. They are perfect for 20 to 30 year olds.

CC CREAM

CC means complexion corrector, as you've probably guessed. They are one step above BB creams in that they focus on correcting dark spots and redness. They are good for young and old alike because they cover blemishes, rosacea, and age spots. Another benefit, along with SPF protection, is they are vitamin-infused. The packaging will tell you which, however most contain Vitamins C & E as these are the vitamins known for healing. They are a lighter formulation still than BB cream, yet manage to be all-in-one primer, foundation, concealer, illuminator and SPF protectors. Quite amazing when you think about it.

DD CREAM

The latest innovation in complexion coverage, DD cream is the "dynamic-do-all". Perfectly formulated for mature and aging skin, this is the "it" cream for the over 50 group. DD creams combine all the benefits of BB and CC creams, with added focus on the needs of post-menopausal skin. They help to diminish fine lines and crows-feet, even out sallow skintone, and provide protection for thinning, sensitive skin. The great thing about DD cream is it has cumulative effects so works better the longer you use it. What could be better for your skin as you grow older? It's genius!
