There's a new makeup trick around and it's really gaining ground. At least, in celebrity makeup artist-land, it's becoming quite mainstream. Introducing "Sandbagging".
Sandbagging is really just another form of concealing, with the added focus on drying oily patches and excess liquid under eyes. The term was borrowed from the common practice of sandbagging flood-ridden areas. The technique is quick and easy and you'll be on your way in seconds. Here's what you'll need to achieve this.
- Wedge-shaped Makeup Sponges
- A Medium-sized Fluffy Makeup Brush
- Finishing Powder or Translucent Makeup Powder
1. Dampen the makeup wedge with a little water. Squeeze out the excess.
2. Dip the pointiest end of the wedge in your powder.
3. Gently press the wedge into the eye area directly under the bottom lashes. Soak up any excess emollient from your under-eye moisturizer, your tears or eye fluids.
4. Now take your fluffy makeup brush and gently whisk away the powder until it is no longer visible.
Voila! Your under-eye area should be dry and your makeup should stay put all day!
Now, repeat the process on your oily chin, again whisking away any trace of powder. Do this on any oily part of your face. Your nose. Your forehead. Wherever oil tends to accumulate throughout the day. This technique is ideal for people who fight to minimize their oily T-zones, large pores, and even blackheads.
Of course, you'll want to use non-clogging, oil-free products. Some great, natural choices in finishing powders are highlighted for you below.
