What's In For Spring 2018

The Spring 2018 Runways were literally blooming with vivid floral prints, bright jewel tones and sheer pastels sure to please every personality from dramatic to romantic. Never seen before graphic prints in black and white were absolute show-stoppers and sure to be big hits with creative and dramatic personalities alike.

Briefly, here's what you can expect to see very shortly in your favorite boutiques.

Pastels: The fern is the leaf of choice in fabric patterns this spring and Michael Kors has done a fine job of presenting them in subtle shades of baby blue and pink. Find them in midi skirts and 2-piece dress sets in select boutiques.

Florals: Huge again this coming season, expect to see them larger than life in even bolder, brighter shades like cobalt blue and yellow. (Michael Kors, Rochas, Erdem, Givenchy).

Iconic Faces: Think Picasso or Andy Warhol in familiar faces like Marilyn Monroe. Larger than life prints in bold colour combinations will be prominent on jackets, dresses and trenches.

Fringe: Expect to see more of it attached to sweatshirts and even the bottom of hems. Something new are trench coats embellished with it, adding greatly to their already long lengths. (Loewe).

Denim: Always a favorite and on trend, this year's feature is darker denim in pantsuits, blazers and tunics and a continuation of the head-to-toe denim trend so highly favored by the celebrity-set. (Chloe, Derek Lam, Alexander McQueen).

Pantone Colour of the Year: Lavender is the featured colour for 2018 and is popping up in everything from shirts to pantsuits, jewellery, scarves, shoes and berets. (Michael Kors, Dries Van Noten).

Skirt Lengths: In case you were wondering how to update your wardrobe in 2018, try purchasing a few skirts and dresses in mid-calf lengths. The midi is back in vogue in sheer pastel dresses and robes, and in bold, solid colors in suits and shift dresses.

Logos: Logo tees are now the thing to pair with jeans and jackets and casual pantsuits. Make a statement with them. Showcase your personality! Add some humor to an otherwise hum-drum day with them!

Layering: Loads of layering is the key to style success this spring. Add pretty sheer pastel shirts and robes to any outfit to make them current and dress them up a notch. More is better in 2018! (Ralph & Russo, Anya Hindmarch).

Black & White: Always stunning, never boring, black and white graphic prints are bolder, more artistic, and more intriguing than ever before! (Balmain).

Bright White: Solid white from head-to-toe is going to be popular this summer in ruffles and fringe and everything in between. A midi white cotton dress, white boots and floppy hat will really play up this trend. (Zimmerman).

Lots of new ideas will be showcased for Spring 2018, along with some old favorites that will be reintroduced in exciting new ways!
