Coconut oil is the most talked about oil on social media right now. It's right up there, if not surpassing, all the other "must-have" oils. Argan oil became popular a few years ago and now it's in just about everything, but celebrities are all fired up about coconut oil so I decided to do some research and see what all the buzz is about.
Apparently, it's great as an Eye Makeup Remover. Even more effective than almond oil. That's because it's great for taking off waterproof mascara, which actresses use quite considerably.
It's also a wonderful Illuminator. It adds a natural glow to the tops of your cheekbones and tip of your chin for an all around J.Lo-like glow.
Try it as well on your cuticles. It's a great Cuticle Oil that, when regularly applied, helps soften cuticles and stimulate nail growth.
Would you believe it helps reduce the appearance of cellulite? They say it's so. Mixed with grapefruit essential oil it makes an effective Cellulite Lotion.
Glide some on your lips as a Lip Protector. It's a natural alternative to petroleum jelly to eliminate chafing.
It's also wonderful as a Dandruff Remover. Rub a little into your scalp for a few minutes before shampooing.
As a Hair Conditioner, De-Frizzer, and Hair Gloss, it's fantastic. Just remember to use a very small amount and shampoo it out.
Gently massage a little around your orbital (eye) area. It's great as an anti-aging Eye Serum.
It's very effective as a Foot Lotion on dry areas, especially cracked heels and calluses.
As an all-over Body Lotion it's amazing. Add a few drops to shea or cocoa butter and you'll never use anything else.
It also has a little SPF value. (Only 5 but better than nothing at all.)
It's antibacterial properties make it an effective Mouthwash. Swish it around your mouth for a minute, then spit it out. (Don't swallow it). This is the technique they call "oil pulling".
And, as you've probably guessed, it's a Massage Oil. It's especially soothing when combined with peppermint essential oil.
I was amazed to learn how many uses coconut oil has! Imagine all the money I'm going to save now! I'm SOLD!
